New Jersey born Los Angeles based Anwar ‘Carrots’ Taj Washington began making the T-shirts that would evolve into his streetwear line when he was, according to himself, a ‘regular kid, who at 16 years old saw some opportunities in streetwear’.

His biggest project, Carrots by Anwar Carrots, was released in May this year and quickly became known for its simple branding, featuring the word ‘Carrots’ emblazoned across the front of hoodies, T-Shirts and socks. The label was thrown into the spotlight after being the favourite brand of fictional character Dylan Maxwell in Netflix mockumentary American Vandal, with ‘Carrots’ seen worn consistently by the protagonist throughout the acclaimed series. The 27 year old breakout designer is now going from strength to strength, and will release a sneaker collaboration with K-Swiss later this year, adding his signature orange trim to the brand’s Classic 66 shoe.
